I’m a quinquagenarian husband/dad/grandad from the South Coast of the UK. I love gardening, personal productivity, minimalism, stoicism, atheopaganism, reading, tech (Microsoft mostly for work), guitar, prog/classical music, West Ham United and Dagenham & Redbridge FC.

I’ll be musing on such topics here. That’s the plan.

  • That’s Life – general ramblings about life, humanism, stoicism, reading, retirement planning, and all other nuggets of life fluff that’s not a category in its own right.
  • In the GarDunn – I do like a garden, or garDunn as I call it. I’m not a great gar-Dunner, but I’m enthusiastic and am learning about what works for me. It’s a great hobby for both physical and mental health. Currently studying Horticulture through a distance learning company. Oooh! 🌿
  • Druidic Dabblings – My love of nature and the gar-dunn, being an atheist / secular humanist, the fact I’m “getting on” in years, and a horrible family bereavement has prompted me to explore spirituality. I’ll be chatting about it here. No proselytising. It’s just what’s working for me.
  • Productivity – about development of a trusted personal productivity system based on my values, habits, areas of interest, and appropriate analogue and digital tools to Get Shit Done.
  • Binary Finery– I’ve been involved in Systems Development most of my career, though I’m not sure on how or why. I work with .NET, Azure, and other Microsoft bits and pieces… I’ll be talking about those items here, as well as any other Tech things I think are worth musing about.
  • Food of Love – I’ve always loved my music. I played guitar and bass in a band, and even taught guitar with my own business for 10 years. Now I’m trying to get back into playing and learning again, as well as listening again to music that inspired me. Mostly progressive rock. Plus some “classic rock”. And a bit of classical to make me look edumacated.

I’ve rejoined some social media to restore old friendships and to cultivate new ones. Much more restrained posting-wise than in previous years.
